I've made a total of three attempts to to be fair. Conclusion: hardly flexible with food allergies. The location and the premises, however, are good. Still: I prefer other restaurants and will probably not try again here.

The HERZLICH has everything. Nice atmosphere at the gates of Recklinghausen. Good cuisine that is delicious and differentiated. The hygiene concept works well. We had a nice evening and would love to come back. In any case, also in summer because of SITTING OUTSIDE. 5 ****** Gladly again

At the beginning the quality was above my expectations, unfortunately the curve has clearly crashed in the meantime. A coconut-lime lemonade tastes good e.g. neither after one nor after the other, just watery and limp like diluted milk. The restaurant is closed on another warm, but slightly overcast summer day. Dozens of walkers went up the stairs and couldn't believe that it was overcast = bad weather. Success seems to make you sloppy, a shame.

We went to the Cafe Herzlich to eat twice within 4 weeks. I have never eaten as bad as last Saturday, September 12th, 2020! Two saddle of veal steaks were ordered, medium, these were well done, new ones were served, these were then raw and the vegetables that went with them were meanwhile partly cold. Unfortunately last Saturday, the outside was partly burnt and totally dry inside and the gnocchis without filling. We were all very disappointed. It was sad that the cook did not face the matter. Ordered the veal steak twice and both times a total disaster. At first both steaks were well done, although medium was ordered. The newly brought steaks were then totally raw inside. The cook should be ashamed. Never eaten so bad. The only thing I was sorry about was the service. The chef didn't have the backbone to face criticism. The nice service unfortunately got everything.

Great restaurant on the outskirts. Food is delicious. Prices okay. Staff very friendly. Coffee and cake are particularly recommended after an afternoon stroll in the area.

Dear, we are (so far) happy to visit you. Your gastronomy is fantastic. However, we had to experience the first bad experiences in the last few days. We wanted to give our mothers vouchers for Mother's Day and support regional gastronomy in difficult times. Unfortunately, you were unable to exhibit them on two days. Instead, we were directed to the fact that only the boss made vouchers. On the other hand, we would have the option to order vouchers via email, which would then be sent to us by post. Welcome to the 21st century. We are very disappointed and have little understanding of how to proceed. So we now had to order vouchers from other restaurateurs who issue vouchers without any institutions. We have to assume that the heart is doing too well. Because exactly this arrogance we had to notice on 2 days.
